Many companies that have certain facilities, such as freezers or climate controlled warehouses, store inventory for other companies. Although this is still referred to as "inventory", it is really "non-owned" inventory, in that the company storing the product should not be showing the inventory value on its books. However, the company needs the tools to be able to induct, release, and transfer this inventory for others.
The Non-Owned Inventory option allows the Netâ˘Yield user to induct (add) inventory to be stored for the customer in the existing item codes or customer specific item code.
Releases are created to ship the inventory from the customer's non-owned inventory to another customer. Transfers can be done to move the inventory from one customer to another, one location to another, or one item to another.
Slot adjustments can be made for movement from one physical slot location to another.
Complete lot history reports and anniversary date balances are easily generated.
Note: To turn on the use of Non-Owned Inventory set the flag to Y (Y=yes) at the Non-Owned Inventory field on the Inventory Options screen.
This section of the system provides those type of tools.
